Texas Police State Out of Money

The 79th Texas Legislature didn't appropriate a dime for law enforcement "enhancement" as they call it. They ran out of money to build more jails and hire more police to handle any new felonies they created.
All the fender benders I've come across have a couple ambulances, 4 or 5 police cars, a couple wreckers and a fire truck parked in the area. Public Safety is important but creating more felons is not the answer. Longer sentences isn't an answer either.
It never occurred to me growing up that all the people I knew who liked to live and let live were going to be classified as criminals some day. It's hard to find a normal Human Being anymore. There's a funny name for everything people do. When the lawyers and politicians get through, we'll all be criminals. They can't even protect themselves. Even today, it's a matter of who gets caught and who doesn't. Everybody breaks some kind of law.
I guess it's a good thing Americans can't afford a police state!!!!!!!!
